Any suggestions for unusual Christening gifts for my Godson?

I am looking for unusual Christening gift for my soon to be Godson. I looked everywhere but just can't find The One. I don't want all the usual pewters and spoons etc. I would like something different, something that nobody else would have as it is a special occasion, he's my best friends son and I am very proud to have been asked to be his Godmother. All suggestions very welcome!!

1. I gave someone a beautiful box that was hand decorated. It was porcilen and had the flowers of the month the baby was born on it. Its for a tooth, a lock of hair, those little strange things that are precious. Its more for the mom than the baby... maybe you could do the 'name a star' after the baby? then one day, you can get him a telescope to find it.
2. igot all my god children a gold chain and a crucifix. they wore it at the christining then it hung on the wall 'til they were older. the only thing i know that increases in value over 15 years. savings bonds are good too.
3. I'm in England and I bought my Goddaughter a silver coin from The Royal Mint in London for the year she was born.
